Introducing Dave Hough - The Suicide Prevention Co-ordinator (SPC)

Dave has been employed as the SPC for Nelson Marlborough since July 2008 and has had opportunity to present at local, national, and international suicide prevention symposium and conferences.  His prior experience includes Mental Health Promotion, Life Coaching, Christian Pastoral Ministry, and various roles in the Health and Fitness Industry [Dave originally trained in Physical Education].  He completed a postgrad paper in Suicide Behaviours, Research, and Prevention through Otago University in 2009.  Dave is passionate about people achieving their potential and understanding their self-worth.  Married with two teenage children he also coaches and judges≠ men≠s gymnastics at a national level; having represented New Zealand in his youth.

Dave has presented at the following:

• Suicide Prevention Information New Zealand [SPINZ] Media Forum [2008],
• SPINZ National Suicide Prevention Symposium [Wellington - 2009], and the
• International Association of Suicide Prevention [IASP] World Symposium [Montevideo, Uruguay 2009]. 

Dave is available to speak to audiences about his work and to provide an overview of suicide prevention and awareness of suicide risk, training options, resources, etc
