bgdiamond: Hui - Health Promotion in PHOs.

The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce a two-day hui for all those who are involved with or interested in health promotion in Primary Health Organisations (PHOs ).

The hui has an exciting programme and promises to:

  • Provide an outline on relevant workforce development issues and progress since the Health Promotion in PHOs Hui held in 2006;
  • Discuss what is a "health promoting approach"; what is working, what can be shared; and, what's happening with smaller, Maori and rural PHOs;
  • Provide an update on relevant national projects;
  • Discuss workforce development issues relating to health promotion in PHOs
  • Aim to develop recommendations for continued progress.

    bgdiamond:  Mental Health Action Plan

    A report commissioned by Nelson Marlborough District Health Board (NMDHB), The Mental Health Populations of Need Report , identifies that just under an estimated 27,000 people in Nelson Marlborough will experience some form of mild to severe mental illness over a twelve month period.

    Over the next six weeks NMDHB is seeking your views and opinions through written submissions, or attendance at a number of key stakeholder and public forums. NMDHB has developed draft documents to assist people to gain a better understanding of mental health services within Nelson Marlborough, and will also inform the development of the Mental Health Action Plan.

    Submissions close on the 8th July 2008.

    Nelson Bays Primary Health contributed significantly to this report with the completion of the Primary Care Mental Health Plan.
