The Breast Screen Aotearoa Bus
The Breast Screen Aotearoa Bus has been in place at Te Awhina Marae from Monday 14th to Saturday 19th April. This initiative has been well supported by the Motueka and wider community with some 140 women being booked in for screening. This great turn out comes from the work put in by Nelson Bays Primay Health, Te Awhina Marae and Breast Screen Aotearoa to identify and draw in at risk women for this service.
Real Life Evaluation Workshop
Over the 10th and 11th April Whakatu Marae saw the coming together of some 50 people from across Te Tau Ihu (Nelson Marlborough), further south from Canterbury and the West Coast, and as far afield as Toronto for a workshop on evaluation. This hui involved much networking, learning and laughter and was enjoyed by all who attended. It was presented by Kate McKegg and brought to Nelson in partnership between NBPHO, Te Waipounamu Health Promotion Coalition, National Heart Foundation, Whakatu Marae and NPA Programme. This is the start of a wider workforce development programme around evaluation being put together by NBPHO and NPA Programme.
