Practice Nursing

• What is a Practice Nurse?

A Registered Nurse providing nursing care based mainly within a general practice setting but may provide care in a community setting  alongside other health care providers & community organisations.

• How to access a Practice Nurse?

Through local GP practices or health centres by phone or in person.

• Who do Practice Nurses provide care for?

Individuals, family/whanau across the life span who are enrolled at the practice or health centre.

Practice Nurses can become a member of the NZ College of Primary Health Care Nurses NZNO.

Practice Nurses can gain Practice Nurse Accreditation, a recognised professional pathway endorsed by the Nursing Council of New Zealand fulfilling the requirements for the annual competency based practicing certificate.
