Postnatal Depression Support Network

In 1989 the network formed from a group of women who had experienced postnatal depression and recognised the lack of support available. It has since grown to a service that provides information and offers support through our trained and experienced volunteer support workers.
We cover from Nelson to Motueka, and provide telephone support for those in rural surrounding areas.

Our services include:

  • Providing information on PND with a lending library of books and other resources.
  • Individual support - at home or what is convenient for you.
  • Therapy groups are run through the year where groups of mothers can all work together in moving forward.
  • Opportunities to talk with and meet others that have experienced PND.
  • Referrals to other service that can help in your recovery.
  • Telephone or email support
  • Support and information for the family/whanau or person supporting.

We can offer support to all mothers and their partners that are experiencing mild to moderate PND.
