The purpose of the Pharmacy Facilitator is to develop and implement the services described in the New Pharmacists Services National Framework that was developed in 2006.

Fuller integration of Community Pharmacy Services into the Government's Primary Health Care Strategy is a national objective. The New Pharmacy Services National Framework was developed to support this integration and expand the contribution made by Pharmacists in improving individual and population health outcomes.

The Pharmacy Facilitator has spent a great deal of time in establishing positive lines of communication between all relevant agencies, involving attendance at numerous meetings, developing contacts, collation of informationinaddition to resolving day to day problems as they have arisen.
