Dietitians Naomi and Marion have been out and about working with Primary Health and community providers. Several General Practice Teams and other providers have taken up the offer to have dietitian input into patient lifestyle management. This input takes a variety of forms. For example:

• One to one client consultations jointly with Nurses
• Group education sessions for a group of clients with similar needs in a General Practice or community setting (e.g. weight loss, cardio-vascular risk factors)
• Provision of nutrition tools and resources for providers where appropriate
• Workforce development sessions for health professionals and community providers

The Dietitians are also involved in the planning and delivery of a number of structured long-term programmes such as:

• A "train-the-trainer" programme for budget healthy eating and cooking
• A multi-disciplinary group to plan childhood obesity services
• Local Diabetes Team and in particular the planning of group education for people with diabetes
• Development of a for Nurses in Primary Health and Community for nutrition assessment and providing evidence based nutrition advice
