Nelson Bays ME/Chronic Fatigue Support Group

Nelson Bays ME/Chronic fatigue support group has 238 members - a surprising number for our region. Support group meetings are held in Nelson on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Tahunanui Library. There is also a monthly men≠s group in Richmond at the New Life Church, and a monthly meeting at the Community House, Decks Reserve, Motueka. 

The group employs two part-time field workers; Gwen Daly Dover (15hrs per week) and Peter Field (4-5hrs per week), who are available to visit general practices or other primary healthcare providers to offer information or advice about what they do or what resources they have that will support people living with ME/Chronic Fatigue. The field workers also support people in their own homes or via email communication if preferred, as well as run the support group meetings.

Available to purchase is an informative DVD by Dr. Charles Lapp, an international expert on ME/CFS. The cost is $10 and is an excellent resource for professionals and/or families affected by, or with an interest in, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
